Keeping it Simple-Community Events

Last week Super Bowl XLIX brought in an estimated 100,000 visitors and had an economic impact of approximately $500 million on Arizona’s economy. The TPC had a record 564,368 fans attend the The Waste Management Open and the Thunderbirds plan to donate at least $7 million to local charities. It was a huge week for Phoenix both in national exposure and in revenue. For many locals though, there is a sense of relief to be back to our normal routines and enjoying our beautiful spring weather. One of the most valuable lessons I learned from my childhood was the ability to enjoy the simple things in life. My Mother was a resourceful woman and knew how to find quality family activites on a limited budget. This is a practice I’ve adopted with my own family and we are always on the lookout for ways to get outdoors and enjoy the simple things together. While there are many large scale events still in the lineup such as next week’s 60th Annual Arabian Horse Show, Baseball’s Spring Training games in March and The Scottsdale Cullinary Festival in April, there are some small scale community events that you may want to check out. These events are kind on the budget, family friendly, shape our communities rather than define our large scale metropolitan area and the memories made are priceless.
